What I Love About December

December is finally here! It's not really my favorite month or anything, but it's the last month and this year has been absolutely spectacular ! So, I decided to make a list of the things I love about December and share it with you. Here it is: Sitting on the terrace after school when the sun is out. Drinking a lot of tea, hot chocolate, and warm milk. Sometimes coffee, and of course, different kinds of soup! Eating peanuts and jaggery as a snack and after dinner with my family. Peanut brittle!!! A lot of it! After all, it is my favorite dessert of the winter season. Thinking twice about leaving the house because it's just too cold outside. Collecting socks. You can never have enough pairs of socks, right? stepping into the room after the heater has been on for 5 minutes and I have just come from a colder room in my house. Trying to do everything I can without leaving the quilt. Wanting to spend time in the kitchen so I feel less cold. Buying a

Memories of Halloween

I can't recall a time I didn't celebrate Halloween. I find it a very exciting holiday and it's too bad it isn't celebrated in In India. But every year, when Halloween is on its way, I like to remember the years I celebrated it in the US. And now that I have a blog, I thought I'd share these memories with you guys... Costume Preferences: Halloween is usually associated with scary costumes like ghosts, vampires, and mummies. But I have always preferred costumes like my favorite girly characters and cute animals. In kindergarten, I was Aurora, my favorite Disney princess. My friend was Snow White (her hair was also similar to that of the princess). We had also gone to a photo studio that year to have our pictures taken in our costumes. Then, in first grade, I was Gabriela from High School Musical. (I was obsessed with those movies at that time.) Once, I was Silvermist from Tinkerbell. And another time I was a Japanese princess. In fifth grade, I

Now or Never...

Dear readers,  have you ever put something off till later and then never got round to doing it? Trust me, I've been there. In fact, I thought of writing this more than two weeks ago! Unfortunately, I kept telling myself that I was too busy and that I'd do it later. But doesn't have to be like that...it's just a matter of getting your priorities straight. If you know what's important to you, you can do everything you set your mind to. The biggest "don't" of priorities is to delay things. What has to be should be done now or you'll end up forgetting about it. Thee have been many times when I've told myself I'll revise for a test AFTER a snack but it's when I'm all set to sleep that I realize that I never got the chance to study for the test because I decided to put it off till later. And  there are other times  when I get frustrated because I really want to do something but I don't get the time. But then I decide that if I&#

My Summer Essentials

Hey guys!! How's your summer going? Mine has been fantastic so far. That's because I have all the things I need for an amazing summer and I thought I'd share them with you. Books-a bookworm like me wouldn't be able to go one day without reading-even in the summer. So, with enough books to read, my summer is sure to be outstanding. Music-whether it's my MP3 player or a flash drive for the car while travelling, I love to hear my favorite songs. In the summer, I listen to songs while relaxing, with friends, while travelling and everywhere else. Travel-every summer, I go somewhere or the other by car or train-my grandma's house, to visit cousins, or for sightseeing. Without a family vacation, my summer is incomplete. Camera; every summer, memories are made and I like to capture those moments forever. So, I always carry a camera to take pictures during a road trip, or while having fun with family. Journal/diary-I love to write so I note down the significant

Hidden Meaning of Text Messages

Heyy, We all text different kinds of people-usually crushes and friends of the same and opposite gender. Today, I'm basically going to be telling you about hidden meanings of texts from the opposite gender.  And ok, You might be thinking, "since when has K Glamour started writing about these kinda things?" and the answer is now. So anyway, I've messaged a guy and I could tell he wasn't really enjoying it. But then, I recently started talking to a new guy friend, and we had endless things to talk about. There were many ways how I came to know whether a guy likes to talk to me or not. Replies: If the person replies with okk, hmm or ohhh, then they are just typing something for the sake of replying. If you get a question as a reply, then that person is interested in knowing more. If they give a thoughtful, reply. they  care about you. Conversation starters: If he/she starts a topic, they want to talk to you. If it's something a bit personal, that mean

Elements of Friendship

Hi guys! Here I am with another post just like I promised. Friendship is an important element of life. Our friendship with others affects our personality. There are many elements of friendship. let me describe each one. Honesty-be honest. if your friends can't trust you, how will your friendship be strong? Be trustworthy and tell the truth. If your friends care for you, they will understand. Loyalty-be loyal to your friends. Don't break promises and don't be a traitor. Keep secrets and let your friends know that you appreciate their friendship. Generosity-be generous. Don't be selfish and be willing ti give to your friends. Be generous to your friends and show them you care. Kindness- it also includes generosity. But being kind also means being friendly and caring. You can be kind by helping your friends or by being by their side. Laughter-friendship isn't fun if you don't laugh with your friends. Tell jokes and listen to them. Be funny and let oth

Be Happy

Dear readers,  Sorry I haven't posted for so long. School's been keeping me busy.  And I realized that it's good that school has kept me busy. No one wants to be bored right? So today I want to share some ways to express your happiness to others and to yourself. Thank others: thanking other doesn't just mean saying thank you after receiving a really great gift...You should also thank the ones who care for you occasionally so that they know you don't take them for granted. For me, this includes my parents, friends, and brother. Write it down: at the end of the day make a list of the things that made you happy on that particular day. It could be a conversation with someone you like, or maybe you got full on a test. No mater how small of a thing made you happy write it down. Share it: You probably share everything with your BFF. Then I'm sure your best friend would be happy to know your feelings. By telling someone about your happiness, you may feel sat

The Perfect Birthday

Hey guys! It's my 14th Birthday today. I'm at home, cherishing all all the amazing memories of my party. But do you know what makes those moments memorable? Here's what I've discovered at my party today. You may not agree with me, but these are my observations for what makes a birthday memorable. Family and friends: Birthdays are always better when you have the people that care about you at your party. With the right people like grandparents, cousins, parents and friends, you can have a blast at your party. venue: The venue of your party really matters. You need sufficient space, and a satisfying area for the party. Games: classic games like musical chairs and passing the parcel can be fun but, create some modern games. With some unique games, you can have a great time. Music: Songs affect the mood of a party. If conversations are slow, play a little music to lift the quiet mood. Make a playlist of your favorites as it's your party. Food: Snacks are a big par

You are Not Alone...

Can you recall a day when you weren't happy and you just wanted to cry? Well, I think we've all been there.  Sometimes, when we are feeling low, we for that somewhere else in the world, someone else is thinking the exact same thing. Also, when we are in a bad mood, we have the choice of locking ourselves away from the rest of the world or, going out there and enjoying. So instead of wanting to be alone, find someone to share your feelings with. There are many people that care fort you- parents, friends, teachers, siblings, and even pets. You might've gotten a bad grade...tell someone about it. You might have fought with a friend...tell someone about it. You might have forgotten to do something extremely important and know you're devastated, embarrassed yourself, gotten hurt, etc. don't keep this to yourself. You might not want to share your thoughts because you are scared someone will laugh at you. That's how I felt before starting this blog. Those w

Friendship Poems

Hi guys!! Happy New Year! Sorry I haven't for so long... I've been busy. Anyway, I'm on vacation and suddenly, I had a blast of poem ideas. So I thought I'd use that as a blog idea. Let's start the year by appreciating our amazing friends with some poems i wrote myself. First up, are two limericks: A LONG-LASTING FRIENDSHIP I want to be your friend till the very end. And in my own way,  I just want to say on our friendship my life will depend. A HELPING HEART I want you to know, when you're feeling low, you can come to me, and you will see, a caring heart is what I'll show. Next is a little poem in a different pattern A REASON TO SMILE I want to say one thing that you will like. It may even bring tears to your eyes. I want you to know, I'll be by your side, wherever you go, and through a bumpy ride. One last poem...it's longer than the rest,                            but it just may be one of my best. REASONS YOU&
